"FREE DAYS" IN 2012 |
Adventure Passes:
Fire
Safety:
Wood fires and barbeques are allowed only within a Forest
Service developed recreation site. (A developed recreation site is one that has a Forest
Service metal fire ring and/or BBQ grill installed.) Outside developed recreation sites, a
portable stove or lantern with propane, butane, petroleum gas or jellied fuel may be used only
by persons with a valid California Campfire Permit. Smoking, except within an enclosed
vehicle or designated area, is prohibited.
Wilderness
Permits:
A wilderness permit is required for entry into the Cucamonga
Wilderness. Permits can be obtained through the District Office during the week or
at the Mt. Baldy Visitor Center on weekends. A wilderness permit is required for
entry into the Sheep mountain Wilderness from the East Fork. Permits may be
obtained Friday through Monday at the San Gabriel Canyon
Gateway.
Pets:
Dogs must be on a leash at all times when in the National
Forest.
