UPDATED RESTRICTION ON USE OF FIRE

The special summer fire restrictions which were instituted in July 2002 have been terminated.  In the Angeles National Forest, fires are again permitted in established picnic areas and campgrounds.  These fires are permitted only within stoves or fire rings constructed by the Forest Service.

Use of fire outside a developed recreation site requires a valid California Campfire Permit.  At the present time, only portable stoves fueled with gas, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel may be used outside of developed recreation sites. In these areas, campfires and charcoal barbecues may not be used.

Although the California Campfire Permit is valid statewide, visitors should always check with local officials regarding local conditions or restrictions.
