Public Scoping Meeting - Conceptual Trail Policy Map Alternatives
Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation

National Park Service, California State Parks, and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy invite your participation in public scoping for the forthcoming Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Interagency Trail Management Plan (TMP).

The scoping will focus on conceptual trail policy map alternatives for the TMP's joint EIS/EIR. Information we gather from the public will be used to finalize the preferred, no action, and two other contrasting alternatives for the draft joint EIS/EIR.
Description: The public is welcome to provide input at six public meetings. If you are unable to attend the meetings, Trail Policy maps and graphics will be available online to view and comment on. The maps and graphics will also be exhibited at National Park Service SMMNRA Visitor Center in Thousand Oaks from October 1-14. Meeting participants will be briefed on Trail Policy Map highlights and given the opportunity to view and comment on the draft maps. Park staff will be available to answer questions.

Meeting Directions: Canoga Park Community Center is located on Owensmouth Avenue east of Topanga Canyon Blvd. and north of Sherman Way.

Los Angeles:
Meeting Directions: 5 FREEWAY SOUTHBOUND - Take Pasadena Freeway - Los Angeles off-ramp (first exit after Stadium Way). Keep left and take Figueroa exit. Turn right at the corner onto Riverside Drive and continue over the bridge. The road becomes Figueroa Stree. Go two blocks and make a left onto Avenue 26. Go 1.5 blocks and make a left into the main entrance.

5 FWY NORTHBOUND - Take Pasadena Fwy off0ramp (first exit on right after Broadway) and stay on the right lane, taking the Figueroa exit. Turn left onto Avenue 26, go 1.5 blocks and make a left into the main entrance.

110 SOUTHBOUND - Take Avenue 26 exit (first exit on right after Golden State Freeway offramp). Turn right onto Avenue 26, go 1.5 blocks and make a left into the main entrance.

110 NORTHBOUND - Pass through the tunnels (near Dodger Stadium), staying in the second left lane. Take Figueroa Street exit - which exits to the left (first exit after the Golden State Freeway off-ramp). Turn right onto Figueroa, stay in the left land to the corner of Avenue 26. Turn left onto Avenue 26, go 1.5 blocks and make a left into the main entrance.

Thousand Oaks:
Meeting Directions: Exit Ventura Fwy (101) at Lynn Road. Go north on Lynn Road. Veer right(east)onto Hillcrest Drive. Go to second light and turn left onto McCloud Avenue. Turn right onto Civic Way and travel to the top of the driveway. Park and walk toward structures. Descend steps to 401 building.
